Holy cow, if everything that is discussed here becomes a reality I'll go haywire
Seriously, this might become one of the biggest player-driven things ever done in gaming! |

I'm intrigued about those Lux Kontos. My theory is that they are similar to our turrets, excepting they're held in place by magnetic and/or gravitic fields. Probably they're stored inside the vessel while not in use or warping, and go out and get in position when needed. About the weapons themselves, they probably are some kind of laser, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were particle beams or even electric arc projectors.
About the "sorrowful brother"... My theory is that due to the continuous attacks on their facilities, Sleepers want to come back to the Jove Empire. However, they're seen as desertors, or are looked at with jealous eyes (due to not suffering the Jove disease), or maybe their brethen are not longer there (Sansha invasions?)...
I also wonder if the whole capsuleer experiment did work as expected for the Jove. Did they predict we would try to be independent, and even attack the Sleepers? Are we their way of dealing with the Sleepers?
I really hope too the Jove finally come back and they're not simply another red cross to shoot at. Faction Warfare, standings... come to mind. I'd love to fight at their side, or help them defend themselves or migrate. And even better, be Jove. That means, Jove characters.

Lux Kontos are hovering above the hull of the BS, not directly connected to it.
Does this mean that All turrets can glide and fire from literally anywhere on the surface of the ship? Allowng for full, perfectly-angular return fire?
No turret would ever be redundant, no matter the firing trajectory. If that's the case, they don't need multiple stances of the same turret or launcher spred over the ship to cover all angles; instead, the turret moves along the hull to keep line of sight to the target. Gameplay-wise it doesn't seem like a big advantage, but it might be from an in-character point of view, as it requires less redundancy.
I wonder if they have other properties. Maybe they can be left behind, so that they start to work as sentry drones? That makes me wonder if they have their own internal power source (as sentries do) or they're fed by the ship via wireless electric power. |

Maybe this awesome article (and the ones linked to it in the text) brings some more light to what might be going on:

I just realized... Doesn't the Caroline's Star nebula look suspiciuosly like an eye?
An ever vigilant eye that can be seen from all known space, that may in turn see all those corners of the cluster?
Which seems to be located in deep Jove space?
Whose green color reminds a lot of the green hulls of the old Jove ships? |

This seems highly adaptable, and makes the best of both worlds (individual and collective) available to them.
And yet, there-¦s still the question of what do they want to do with it..... That reminds me a lot of DUST clone mercenaries.
Their "mind" is stored in a database and then transfered on a clone. If the clone dies, the brain state is transfered to the database, with the new experiences acting like an "file update". In fact, if they are left behind on a planet too far away of the database (outside its transmission range), they're pretty much going to lose years of their life, because their clones can't live more than 5 years (if I recall correctly), and when they die, the new experiences are not going to be added to the database. In fact, sometimes weirder things can happen like having 2 clones of the same person with the same mind inside them, yet be separate persons.
Can't help but wonder how does that "lifestyle" feel like. And of course, if said technology was somehow taken from the Jove, Sleepers or Drifters... And we're yet to see what is going on with the Valkyries. |
